The United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney (USSC) is working with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) to convene the third iteration of the Sunnylands Initiative in Sydney in April 2023. In this iteration, NED and USSC are convening more than 20 leading thinkers on democracy from across the Indo-Pacific for a discussion of strategies to advance democratic governance in the region building on the Sunnylands Initiative to date. The group will issue a renewed statement of principles and vision for regional cooperation to advance democratic governance norms in the region that reflects the broad and diverse experiences of the participants. Following the Sunnylands Initiative, the USSC engage in government briefings, public events, media outreach, roundtables, digital collateral and participant inclusion in podcasts and other events continuously through 2023. |
