Activity description
 Please note due to COVID-19 and associated travel restrictions the final component in relation to this program, the travel to Washington D.C, was unable to proceed as planned. We are currently liaising with the US Embassy in relation to extending the current agreement beyond 31 December 2021.

Original Proposal: The Perth USAsia Centre in cooperation with the United States Studies Centre will deliver regional workshops in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, in addition to a travel exchange program to Washington, DC for young Australian leaders in order to:
•	Educate young Australians on the foundational democratic and values-based principles of U.S. – Australia relations;
•	Equip the next generation of alliance managers with the knowledge and networks needed to manage U.S. – Australia relations in the Indo-Pacific era;
•	Increase and diversify the number of young professionals with a career interest in the future of the U.S.-Australia Alliance;
•	Broaden the geographic distribution of the next generation of alliance managers to encompass perspectives from different regions of Australia

The specific objectives and outcomes of the workshsops aim to:
•	Identify a cohort of 45 young participants reflecting diversity in gender, ethnicity, career sector, and geographical location. Participants will be selected based on potential to be influential leaders in the future management of the U.S. – Australia Alliance;
•	Foster the group of future alliance managers through a career development opportunity to network and learn from experts on the U.S.-Australia Alliance and Indo-Pacific Security;
•	Develop joint statements and opportunities for public discussion of key issues discussed and new areas identified at regional workshops for future U.S. – Australia relations;
•	Post-program, enable continued relations and activities between workshop participants and the U.S. Mission to Australia.
